Event Details:

Ten years ago, in a little café in Decatur, GA, a dozen women (and a gentleman) met to flesh out the framework for a women’s organization that would be representative of the diverse Ghanaian community in Georgia. With a shared commitment to give of our resources and uplift the less fortunate in our communities, the Ghanaian Women’s Association of Georgia was birthed.

We are celebrating ten years as a thriving organization making an impact in our communities. Today, what still makes the work of GWAG possible is the people. From our members, who are committed to keeping us going, to our sponsors without whose generosity we would not have the resources to serve.

Join us on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. PROMPT for an evening of cultural entertainment and old school classics! Our Guest of Honor will be Emmy-nominated Journalist and 11Alive News Anchor, Faith Abubey, with Special Guests including Hon. C. Jack Ellis, former Mayor of Macon, GA. This year's event also features awards, the swearing in of new GWAG officers, and the launch of an annual scholarship fund to support college students of Ghanaian descent residing in Georgia. What an exciting time to be turning 10! It's definitely time to dust those dancing shoes, pull out your elegant gowns and dapper Tuxes, for a festive night of celebrations. This will be an event like no other and we look forward to celebrating with you! CLICK HERE to get your tickets TODAY!
